Assessment and Verification

  • Written Assignments: Each unit is internally assessed by qualified assessors and externally verified by the awarding body.
  • Teaching Practice:
    • A minimum of 100 hours of teaching practice is required.
    • At least 8 teaching observations (one hour each).
    • Observations can be carried out through recorded sessions or live assessor visits.

Progression

Upon successful completion, you can apply for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status, which enables you to be employed as a state school teacher (for GCSE and A-Level students), in addition to various other teaching roles in the further education and skills sector.
